We moved to Riverside on the 18th September 2017, having taken on the business from the previous owners who had run Riverside for the past 30 years. We both love dogs and cats and enjoy that the kennels and cattery is our daily work.
Maria is a Registered Veterinary Nurse with a certificate in Emergency Medicine and has been working as a Veterinary Nurse since 1992.
Prior to working as a Veterinary Nurse Maria worked in a boarding, breeding and rescue centre in South Devon. She became the Manager there and it was having this contact with animals that lead her into Veterinary Nursing. For the later part of her career Maria was Head Veterinary Nurse for the PDSA, Plymouth for 13 years. In her spare time Maria enjoys gardening in our vegetable patch, cycling and walks with our dog Percy.
Aidan is qualified in Advanced Pet First Aid (Levels 2+3 - VTQ). Aidan has previously come from a hospitality and financial background although he prefers to be outdoors working and playing with the animals. He enjoys meeting and greeting our new arrivals as well as the running of the kennels and cattery with Maria. In his spare time Aidan enjoys riding his motorbike for day trips out and about.
Together we feel we have the right combination to make Riverside a warm and welcoming place for your pets to stay.
Hi I’m Percy.
I’ve lived at Riverside since I was 3 years old. I keep Aidan and Maria busy with walks and play when they are not busy with the kennels and cattery. I’m often out in the garden but if you see me please excuse my barking as I’m actually quite shy!!
My roles at Riverside include: Security, gardening, toy testing and grounds inspections, oh and lots of sleeping!!
There has been a boarding kennels at Riverside since 1977. The business originally started with the conversion of some outbuildings for dog kennels and has subsequently grown over the years with its respective proprietors to be the business it is today.
