Vaccinations

We require all our boarders to be fully vaccinated.  Proof of vaccination will need to be sent via email at the time of booking.  Our requirements are as follows:

Cats

Cats must be inoculated against Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Feline Calicivirus and Feline Panleucopenia.  Most vets will carry out the vaccinations on an annual basis.

Dogs

Dogs must be vaccinated against Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus and Bordetella Bronchiseptica.  Most vets will carry out the vaccinations on an annual basis.

Bordetella Bronchiseptica or "Kennel Cough"We insist all dogs are vaccinated for Kennel Cough due to the density of our dog population.  The vaccine should be given on an annual basis.

In certain circumstances we will insist on a minimum time gap from when your dog received the Kennel Cough vaccine to when you are eligible to board.  They are as follows:

  • My dog has never had the Kennel Cough vaccine before - We will require a 3 week gap between the vaccination date and your arrival date.  This time period can be reduced to 3 days only if your dog has had the Parainfluenza (Pi) vaccination as part of its last annual boosters.

  • My dog has had the Kennel Cough Vaccine but it was over 12 months ago We will require a 3 week gap between the vaccination date and your arrival date.  This time period can be reduced to 3 days only if your dog has had the Parainfluenza (Pi) vaccination as part of its last annual boosters.

Changes to the Kennel Cough vaccine - Please be aware that there are newer vaccinations being given which only cover Bordetella Bronchiseptica.  If your dog has been given Nobivac Respira Bb or Versican Oral Plus bb then please ensure that your dog has also been vaccinated for Parainfluenza (Pi).

If you are in any doubt about your pets vaccination status please give us a call or email a copy of the current vaccination card and we will be happy to advise if it is acceptable for boarding with us.
